I'm someone who likes to see a connection between technology, design, science, and a good life for all of us on this planet. This theme is so consistent I have not changed my LinkedIn description since I joined in 2006:
"We speak and act every day. Our actions have consequences. Why not act for improving the environment and living conditions for people. Whatever you do, take a moment to ask yourself am I doing the world any good today?"
Over 20 years in technology R&D, an entrepreneurial mind with keen interest in long-term research, multimodal UI design, human-computer relations, augmented and virtual reality, nanosciences including wide use of nanotechnology, biomaterials, ubiquitous computing, cleantech, renewable energy sources, quantum technologies, etc. This topped with a humanist approach, technology serving people and not the other way around.
A Finnish and US national currently living in the Boulder area, CO. Other cities I love are New Orleans, New York, London, and Helsinki. Occitanie in Southern France.
I keep the corporate titles up to date in LinkedIn.

Projects
These are projects that I consider important, and have dedicated time to. None of these are business as usual, or a career move. These are larger than life passions:
Deep Pockets a podcast and a book project. Deep Pockets podcast discusses the role governments play in creating new industries. Space travel, satellites, 5G telecommunication networks, nuclear energy, semiconductors ... none of these would exist without risk investment from the government.
Quantum Strategy Institute a global think tank on end user adoption of quantum technologies. Quantum has the potential of deeply disrupt pharma, agriculture, research, transportation, energy, telecommunications. The earlier we get these industries to embrace the possibilities of quantum, the better chance we have of not destroying our planet and humanity.
Blue-Sketch a spin-off company of Mobile Brain Bank. From 2D to 3D floor plans, AR, all the way up to AI generated Virtual Staging, we served luxury real estate clients in high end markets across North America and Europe. Blue-Sketch employed youth in New Orleans, LA, providing opportunities for individual growth in local black and brown communities. Blue-Sketch was sold to PadStyler, a Texas based virtual staging company in 2020.
Electric Girls a New Orleans based non-profit that helps girls age 6 to 14 to discover their love for electronics and computer science. As a woman in STEM it is my duty to pave the way forward by volunteering and fund-raising to organizations like these.
Mobile Brain Bank a network of mobile professionals turning entrepreneurs. Initiated from personal drive during 2008 recession to encourage people in between jobs to start their own company. Grew in Europe to helping existing startups and arranging networking events - including Europe's largest happening for Mobile Africa in 2010 single handedly arranged by my team.
Between 2012 and 2015 Mobile Brain Bank operated as a business startup in NYC, providing work for me, our own Mobile Brain Bank staff, and hundreds of developers around the world creating 35 apps for our US based customers. Today, Mobile Brain Bank is serving the software communities as part of my 7,500 LinkedIn contacts in the fields of deep technology and software.
Nest New York, accelerator program and co-working space at Union Square, the heart of tech scene in New York. This is where the Mobile Brain Bank crew nested, and collaborated with other local startups. Nest NYC was an open space in the middle of Manhattan for Nordic startups to come to, hang out, connect with clients and investors.
I consider this an altruistic act of compassion towards the Nordic startup community, and I'm proud to have been part of its legacy 2011-2015.
Symbian OS is the world's largest software platform ever gone open source. 30 million lines-of-code in platform, and 20 million lines-of-code in tools transformed from proprietary to fully exposed source code, and the most open governance model of any mobile operating system at the time.
I dedicated much time and effort into getting the proprietary code repositories prepared, licensing models negotiated, and foundation formed in order for this platform to run as the world's largest OSS project.
Open source is not just another licensing model, but a philosophy, a way of life even, fitting perfectly in the values of technology enabling growth and opportunities for anyone willing to make an effort.
Nanovalo.net an international study on women over 40 and use of mobile services. A 100+ person survey interviewing people from Europe, Africa, US and Asia. Together with my colleague Sari Paivarinta we sought grass-root knowledge on how mobile phones shaped women's lives in 2009. Published by the Helsinki University of Technology as part of my MBA.
Accessibility for me is a combination of technical architecture and UX. Presentations and conference proceeding in Very Human Technology. I have always strongly advocated for technologies to be created by and for diverse groups of people helping our environment and humanity to grow stronger.
